Preparing your property for professional photography

 
 
Kitchen
  • Clear bench tops of food, dish racks, mail, baking supplies and cutting boards.

  • Remove fridge magnets and other items off the fridge.

  • Remove dishes, dish liquids, tea towels, soaps and plugs.

  • Put away garbage bins, brooms, mops and cleaning products.

 

 

Bathroom
  • Clear bench tops completely of toothbrushes, soaps, razors, plugs, etc.

  • Remove shampoos, soaps and cleaning products from showers.

  • Remove all towels, rubbish bins, scales, bathmats and laundry baskets.

  • Close toilet lids, remove toilet brush and spare toilet rolls.

 

Bedrooms
  • Clear away clothes, shoes and laundry baskets.

  • Remove books, tissue boxes and jewellery from bedside tables.

  • Remove portable fans, heaters and rubbish bins.

  • Tidy up study desks, remove excess toys, posters and personalised stickers.

  • Clean under bed, removing items which may appear in photos. 

 

 

General Interior Preparation 

  • Clean windows/glass, dust surfaces/countertops, vacuum or mop floors.

  • Open curtains and blinds and turn off ceiling fans.

  • Remove door mats, floor mats and pet bowls.

  • Make sure all light bulbs are working and turn on all lights.

  • Turn all TVs, computer screens off. 

  • Straighten tables and chairs, arrange cushions attractively.

  • Remove excess clutter (incl. stacks of magazines/papers/children’s toys, etc)– place all shoes/jackets in closets.

  • Remove personal photos. 

  • De-clutter and clean interior of fireplace.

 
General Exterior Preparation
  • Remove all washing from the clothesline.

  • Remove vehicles from driveway and house front.

  • Close garage door.

  • If possible, ensure lawns are moved. 

  • Remove cobwebs from eaves and door frames. 

  • Move rubbish bins so they are not visible from the street.

  • Put away garden hoses, tools, toys and bikes.

  • Remove pool toys, skimmers and creepy crawly pool cleaners.

  • Contain pets in the garage or out of sight. 

  • Turn on water features if applicable.
